The Cassa di Risparmio di Ferrara bank has received the prestigious innovation award for the Web 2.0 category
After being selected as one of the last thirty finalists for the lCT Innovation Award taking place at SMAU Business, Carife won first prize for the best project in the Web 2.0 category.
The award goes to the Organization department of the Cassa di Risparmio di Ferrara for having implemented a project for the ‘reorganization of its information system assets,’ and having provided its employees with critical information for the business in the clearest and most straightforward way, using the company intranet.
"We are proud to have received this award," commented Carife – "And for a project we very much believed in and which clearly shows our willingness to make the most of information as a fundamental asset in the creation of value within a large banking group. These are concerns which are very much in line with the need to have avant-garde technology, which is as flexible as it is capable of managing our security requirements in an unobjectionable manner."
The Cassa di Risparmio di Ferrara needed to introduce a tool capable of facilitating and unifying different kinds of searches. Thanks to the implementation of a federated search solution it is now possible to index the hundreds of thousands of documents the bank holds and make them available in real time, with just one query. The new application has resulted in the ability to face and resolve critical situations tied to documentation and information sharing within the organization: it is now possible to search for documents and information from different sources with a simple full text search. The system we chose has confirmed its flexibility in not having to make any changes to existing settings nor pre-set access rules related to individual original sources.
"This award is the culmination of the appreciation we have received in the field on a daily basis from our clients. They are always very surprised that a company solution designed to optimize access to large quantities of information can be so simple to use and quick to implement at the same time," commented Rosagrazia Bombini, the Managing Director of Exalead.
In reality the secret lies in the extreme flexibility of Exalead’s architecture, invented at the intersection of the Web and the enterprise. As a result, it is capable of merging business needs which have always been its core business.

This is a need for all modern companies who look towards the future, and like Carife, have shown that they have the vision and acumen to face society’s challenges to information access with a solid, innovative approach.
