Shortcuts

1 - How do I use the "shortcut" function ?

Shortcuts let you access your favorites sites with a single click from the Exalead web site. If you create an Exalead account, you can even access your shortcuts from any computer in the world, anytime you're connected to the Internet.

Creating shortcuts is simple. Just click an "Add a shortcut" link on the home page and enter a URL (web address). You can add an unlimited number of shortcuts to your Exalead home page. See the graphic below for more details.

  • A) Enter the URL (web address) of the website : "www.myfavoritesite.com"

  • B) Enter a title (optional).

  • C) Use the "Edit" link to change a URL and/or title. Use the hand icon to drag and drop your shortcuts into any order you desire. You can also click the [X] button to delete a shortcut.

  • D) Click on the "Add a shortcut" link to fill in a URL and title, creating a new shortcut.

  • E) As with your search results, the shortcuts are automatically presented in a thumbnail view format, offering you a preview of the referred site.

  • F) Click the "Add more shortcuts" link anytime to add an unlimited number of shortcuts to your home page.

  • G) Help preserve the shortcuts you've created by using the "Hide edit buttons" option.

2 - How do I create a shortcut?

To create a shortcut, follow the procedure below (refer to the screenshot above in Topic 1):

  • Click on one of the "Add a shortcut" links (D).
  • Enter the URL (web address) of the site you wish to bookmark (A).
  • Enter the title you wish to give the site (optional)(B).
  • Choose "Save" to add your shortcut or "Cancel" to clear the information you entered.

3 - How do I organize my shortcuts?

To ogranize your shortcuts, follow the procedure below:

  • Click on either the thumbnail or the hand icon to move your shortcuts. Hold down your mouse and drag the shortcut to a new location.
  • Click on the [X] button to remove a shortcut.

4 - How can I save my shortcuts?

Your shortcuts are automatically saved and accessible anytime you log onto the Internet using the same computer on which you created the shortcuts. To access your shortcuts from any Internet-connected computer in the world, simply create an Exalead account and your shortcuts will be saved in your account preferences.
